Tree Giveaway and Planting in Kashmere Garden in Houston

Calling Houstonians! Join TCA, Texas A&M Forest Service, City of Houston and various partners to provide a better living space for the community in Kashmere Garden by planting native trees. A recent heat-mapping initiative identified Kashmere Gardens as one of the most at-risk communities from dangers of the urban heat island, a micro-climate where urban temperatures are higher than in outlying areas because of the lack of green spaces and an abundance of heat-absorbing structures, such as buildings and parking lots. Join us on Saturday, February 11, to plant native trees along Cavalcade Street. This event also includes a free tree giveaway. More than 500 seedlings will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. We look forward to seeing you!
