About the Event

Join TCA, Native Prairies Association of Texas, and other partners in removing the invasive savage cabbage species from along the Trinity River.

Savage cabbage is a highly invasive weed that thrives in disturbed areas like roadsides or the floodway. Due to its relatively early emergence and ability to grow very tall, it can out-compete many native wildflowers.

The most effective way to decrease the population is to remove the plant before it goes to seed in the spring.

Volunteers will be pulling the plants out of the ground. If possible, please bring small weeders and shovels for digging.

Please bring a refillable water bottle, closed toed shoes, and dress according to the weather.
