About the Event

Join TCA & the Texas Master Naturalist Elm Fork Chapter in laying newspaper and mulch over weed species that compete for resources against native species like Little Bluestem. By eliminating competitive species, we will create a healthier prairie habitat for our pollinators and other wildlife at Green Acres Farm Memorial Park.

Once a family-owned farm used largely for boarding and selling horses, the 13-acre property is now a public park. Texas Master Naturalists and volunteers manage projects on the farm to restore native prairie and riparian habitats, provide shelter for birds, and to ensure that the space is accessible and enjoyable for its visitors.
