About the Event
Want to get involved to make a difference and do a little manual labor?
Join Texas Conservation Association and Texas Parks and Wildlife Park Rangers on Sunday, April 13th, in restoring our prairies/savannahs by aiding in the removal of invasive species and encroaching small trees.
These efforts will prepare park grounds for future prescribed burns that will help in restoring these prairies into their historical form. This Prairie/Savannah habitat project will benefit local wildlife, park visitors, and trail accessibility.
When:- April 13th - 9AM-12PM
Meet:-Parking/Meeting Location = Bluestem Grove parking lot
Who:- REGISTRATION is REQUIRED if you plan to attend this event. Click the RSVP button on this page.
Cost:- This is considered a volunteer opportunity and entrance fees are waived for registered participants.- Let Headquarters staff know you are a volunteer when you arrive(They will have a list of registered volunteer names)
Additional Information:- Dress for field conditions and weather, including boots, hat, sunscreen, etc.
-Gloves are highly recommended.- Programs are subject to weather cancellation.- Check back here for the most up to date weather cancellation information.- If possible, bringing personal equipment such as loppers and clippers we will ensure all volunteers will have tools to work with if needed.
