About the Event
Participants will learn how to utilize the Merlin Bird ID app which can identify which birds are around in seconds using sound recognition. Often, we can hear many different songs and calls around us, but can't always see the birds that are making these sounds. The Merlin Bird ID app is a fantastic tool that encourages people to get outside and listen to the sounds of nature, while sharpening their bird identification skills. It can be used anytime, anywhere! Participants are encouraged to bring binoculars, but it is not required.
The bird walk will take place along fairly smooth and flat trails that go through different habitat types including bottomland hardwood forest, upland prairie, wetland, and riparian habitat.
